SIPlas Pty Ltd has project managed multiple tooling programs worth many millions of

dollars. We have worked with toolmakers in many countries to deliver products that

exceed the customers’ expectations for cost, quality and timing. Our experience

includes the full range of polymer manufacturing processes as well as pressed metal

and die cast tools.

Over time we have established strong relationships and agencies with different

suppliers and we are confident in our ability to supply the level of technology that you

Low volume or high volume?

The pressures of injection moulding are such that tooling is expensive. If you want the lowest cost components, then injection moulding is normally preferred.  SIPlas Pty Ltd is not limited to the facilities of one toolmaker. We are able to offer cast mould tooling that has proven competitive for as little as 150 pieces. Our specialty is metal replacement products utilising high performance materials such as Glass Fibre Reinforced PPS.  If you are not sure of your market size then these tools may provide a lower cost option to enter the market. The ‘right’ option is dependent on so many parameters. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

’Hybrid’ additive manufactured Tooling

We are pleased to offer the latest technology in tooling manufacture. This is a combination of Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and high speed (35,000 rpm) CNC machining. Mould cooling is one of the most important requirements for high speed, high quality injection moulded products. SLS makes conformal cooling possible for virtually any product geometry. Venting of moulds is another characteristic that is most important but often neglected.  SLS can control the porosity of the metal. This enables venting to be positioned at virtually unlimited locations in the mould. Where should vents be placed?  Hybrid manufactured tooling projects include extensive computer modelling for polymer flow and heat distribution to ensure that the best options are included in your tooling.
